RuffLife Recordz was founded and created in the year 2000 in Tucson, Arizona by up and coming talent, The Raskal. The Raskal had been working with major labels trying to put together a solid deal to launch his rap career. After many mishaps and miscommunication, he decided to start his own label and RuffLife Recordz was born. Things were not easy in the beginning. It was very hard to market a label and a solo rap career, without any financial support or support from heavy hitters in the industry.The Raskal kept pushing hard to find venues, a quality studio to record in, and a team that would be supportive. By 2001, The Raskal saw himself all over the local radio stations, and rocking sold out crowds with some of hip-hops greats such as, Snoop Dogg, Nelly, Ludacris, IceCube, Fat Joe, Bow Wow, Too Short, to name a few. Later that year, The Raskal released the highly anticipated debut album "The Mischievous One". The album had very high expectations, but did not stand up to the hype due to lack of promotion and finances, it became labeled a flop by many. After yet another curve ball in the industry, The Raskal hooked up with fellow local rapper Sykk 1 and immediately started working on the sophmore album, "Rearraning The Game". This album had that West Coast sound that the debut album lacked. "Rearranging The Game" was released in Sept. of 2003, and had great success not only in the US, but overseas in Japan as well. This album included the hit single "Tonight" featuring MC Magic and club banger "Raize It Up". The Raskal began touring and enjoying some success from the album and immediately started working on his next project "Tha Game Will Never Be Tha Same". This album would become an instant classic with heavy hitting single "Cradle To The Stage" a true story of growing up with nothing, to making a mark in a tough industry. "Tha Game Will Never Be Tha Same" was released Sept 2005 and enjoyed the same success as "Rearranging The Game". After 4 hard years of promoting The Raskal, RuffLife Recordz turned to Sykk 1 to continue the legacy. Sykk 1 began working on his debut album "The Sykk Sense". Not only did Sykk 1 make all of his own beats for the album, he also recorded and layed out everything himself making him a sure star. After 3 years solid in the studio, the highly anticipated debut album "The Sykk Sense" was released in July 2008. Sykk 1 was also granted success, much like The Raskal and enjoyed radio play, and rocking big shows as well. In 2009, after nearly a 3 year abscence, The Raskal is ready to flood the industry with "Defined Controversy" a 2 Disk Set which is set for relelase nationwide November 2009. This album includes the hit singles "You'Re The Reason Why" Featuring Geminii, "Let's Ride" Featuring MC Magic & Geminii, as well as "A'ZillA" Featuring Hanibal Leq & Lifted. Features for the album include, Willy NorthPole, Tha Realest, MR Shadow, MC Magic, Geminii, Mikel Knight, Zig Zag, Kokane, King T, Prodeje Of South Central Cartel, Kozme, Spice 1, Jayo Felony, CopyWrite, HopSin, Knoc Turn'al, Chino XL, Roscoe, Dru Down, Sykk 1, Quon, K-Son, C-Notez, Lifted, Hanibal Leq and more......
